Are you a student who enjoys gardening, sustainability, agriculture, and snacking on fresh produce? Apply to work at our beautiful garden! Our team is looking to hire 3-5 UVA students for our Student Farm Crew Internship and 1 UVA student for the MKG Assistant Coordinator Internship. With no prior experience needed, students in these positions will gain firsthand insights at planting, weeding, harvesting produce, agricultural practices, community service, and more!

Serving on the MKG Leadership team has been the most impactful experience I have had since coming to UVA, as it is the perfect addition to my life as a student. Amidst my busy schedule, working in the garden with fellow nature lovers is always a breath of fresh air from the mundaneness of four classroom walls, and it has intensified my passion for food justice in a way I never thought was possible. There are just some skills you cannot fully learn from a lecture and PowerPoint, and farming is one of them. Not only have I learned specifics about sustainable agriculture and crops, but I have made relationships on the way that I hold near and dear to my heart. I hope by sharing a bit about my time at MKG that it encourages you to apply and come see the magic that Morven has to offer for yourself!

All interested applicants can forward a cover letter and resume to Fiona Flynn (byz5bu@virginia.edu), and any questions/general inquiries regarding the positions can be sent to her as well. If you’re curious to hear about my experiences at Morven from the student perspective, feel free to reach out (nre3nr@virginia.edu)! On behalf of everyone on the MKG team, we are ecstatic to bring some new energy and fresh faces to the garden!

See you around Morven!  Brookelyn Mitchell, MKG Student Intern
