Morven Kitchen Garden Spring CSA registration is open!

A message to our members:

Over the past several years, interest in our CSA program has grown steadily, and we are so fortunate to have so many people highly engaged in our food system! The student leadership team has been brainstorming and discussing ways that we can serve more customers, as currently more than half of those interested don’t get to participate in our program. In order to enable more community members to participate in our CSA, we have decided to move fully to half-shares. These shares will all be available for pick-up at our regular location at Observatory Hill or at the Morven property. We’ve calculated that changing to a fully pick-up system with 3-4 items in the CSA each week will enable us to serve approximately 30% more customers each season! For those of you who want more produce and/or door delivery, we recommend looking into our friends and neighbors at Bellair Farm’s CSA program, which has a lot to offer! We are extremely grateful for the support we get from our community - we are heartened that now, more than ever, people in our community are understanding the importance of local food and connecting with community farms.

Registration is open for the Spring 2025 season! Season starts on February 5th and ends on April 16th, skipping over the week of March 12th in observance of UVA’s spring break. UVA grounds pickups will occur outside of O-Hill Dining hall, weekly on Wednesdays, 4:30-5:30pm. On-farm pickup is available as requested throughout the season. Use the sign-up button below to request a spring CSA share and select your preferences. (Survey completion does not guarantee membership, an MKG team member will reach out prior to the spring season to confirm your membership).

Morven Kitchen Garden CSA

CSA shareholders pay for 10 bags of wickedly fresh, local produce over the 10-week season. Shares include 3-4 items, and are picked up on Wednesday afternoons (4:30pm-5:30pm) from UVA grounds outside of O-Hill dining hall, with a dozen local eggs included for an additional fee. Our goal is to not turn anyone away for inability to pay and we operate on a sliding payment scale.

Vegetables

We grew over 40 different crops using sustainable, regenerative methods.  Our aim is to provide a wide variety of produce each week, from greens and lettuce to root crops and warm and cool season favorites. We offer the option to add-on free-range eggs from our friend and backyard gardener, Tom, for an additional $65 charge.

Seasons & Share Sizes

MKG offers three distinct ten week CSAs:

Summer Season: June - August (10 weeks)

Fall Season: September - November (10 weeks)

Spring Season: February - April (10 weeks, skipping over UVA’s Spring break)

Membership includes a selection of 3-4 homegrown items, great for most of the needs of a 1-2 person household, or as a supplemental amount of produce towards a larger household.
